How Casino Bonuses Work

A casino bonus is extra playing money the casino adds on top of your deposit, usually as a percentage match. On a 100% match, a €50 deposit gives you €100 to play with. The bonus sits in a separate balance and only becomes cash once you have met the conditions attached to it. Three conditions decide whether an offer is worth taking. The number on the banner is not one of them.

1. Wagering Requirement

How many times you must bet the bonus before winnings convert to cash. A €100 bonus at 40x means €4,000 in bets before you can withdraw. On our list, wagering runs from 17x at Arcanebet and 25x at LeoVegas and LuckyDays up to 60x at Boo Casino. A smaller bonus at 25x usually leaves you with more money than a bigger one at 50x.

2. Game Contribution

Not every game counts the same towards wagering. Slots normally count 100%, so a €1 spin counts as €1 of wagering. Table games, video poker and live dealer tables often count 5% to 20%, and some are excluded. A bonus that clears comfortably on slots can be close to impossible to clear on blackjack.

3. Maximum Win and Maximum Bet

Some bonuses cap what you can withdraw from bonus play, most often on free spins and no deposit offers. Nearly all cap your stake while the bonus is active, typically at €5 a spin or 10% of the bonus. Breaching the bet cap voids the winnings. Check both numbers before you assume a bonus has unlimited upside.

How to Claim a Casino Bonus

  1. Pick an offer from the list. Every casino on this page is licensed and has been tested by our team. Choose on the terms that suit your budget, not the biggest headline figure.
  2. Register at the casino. Give accurate personal details. Most casinos verify your identity before your first withdrawal, which is a licensing requirement rather than a casino quirk.
  3. Opt in and deposit. Select the offer at the cashier if the casino asks you to, then deposit with an eligible method. Skrill and Neteller are excluded at many casinos; cards, Revolut, Apple Pay and bank transfer nearly always qualify.
  4. Clear the wagering inside the time limit. Play eligible games until the requirement is met and the bonus balance becomes cash you can withdraw.

Casino Bonuses by Type

There is no single best casino bonus. A high roller and a €10 player want different things, so the right offer depends on how you play. These are the types you will find in Ireland, what each is good for, and where the best current example is.

Welcome Bonuses

The largest offer a casino will ever give you, and you only get one shot at it. Most are deposit matches, sometimes spread across your first three to five deposits, often with bonus spins added. The first deposit nearly always carries the best match rate. Compare every casino welcome bonus on real terms, not headline amounts.

Best in Ireland right now: North Casino, up to €5,000 across five deposits.

No Deposit Bonuses

A small amount of bonus money or spins for registering, with nothing paid in. The safest way to test a casino, in return for strict wagering and low withdrawal caps. See every no deposit casino bonus in Ireland and what each lets you keep.

Best in Ireland right now: King Billy with 50 no deposit spins, Boo Casino with €6 and One Casino with €10 on sign-up.

Free Spins Bonuses

A set number of plays on a chosen slot, usually at €0.10 a spin. The simplest bonus to use, but winnings normally carry their own wagering before they turn into cash.

Best in Ireland right now: NetBet with 500 spins on sign-up, Captain Cooks with 80 spins for a €5 deposit.

Deposit Match Bonuses

The standard casino deposit bonus: a percentage of what you put in, most often 100% up to a set cap. Deposit €100 on a 100% match up to €600 and you play with €200. Deposit €600 and you get the full €600 extra.

BonusFinder Tip
Best in Ireland right now: Stake Casino with a 200% match on the first deposit, the highest rate on our list. The wagering requirement, not the cap, decides whether a match is worth claiming.

No Wagering Bonuses

Winnings paid as cash with no playthrough attached, so anything you win is withdrawable at once. The cleanest bonus structure there is, in return for smaller amounts and fewer eligible games.

Best in Ireland right now: PlayOJO with 80 wager-free spins, BetVictor with 100 wager-free spins for a €10 deposit, and William Hill with 200 spins wager-free.

Cashback Bonuses

A percentage of your net losses returned over a set period, usually a week. The typical rate is 10%, a few Irish casinos go to 20%, and cashback carries light or no wagering. You only get credited if you lose, which makes it the most player-friendly type.

Casino Rewards Bonuses

The ongoing value once the welcome bonus is used up: points for every wager that convert into spins, reload bonuses or cash. If you plan to stay at one casino, the rewards programme matters more than the welcome offer.

Seasonal Bonuses

The most generous short-term offers run around Christmas, Easter and St Patrick's Day, usually as calendars of daily bonuses or tournaments with cash prizes.

Low Deposit Bonuses

Bonuses that unlock from €1 to €10 rather than the €20 the bigger packages ask for. If you play on a small budget, the minimum deposit is the real barrier, not the terms.

Casino Bonus Terms Explained

The terms and conditions are where one €500 bonus turns out to be worth more than another. These are the eight that matter, and what a fair version of each looks like in Ireland.
  • Wagering requirement. How many times the bonus must be bet before you can withdraw. Check whether it applies to the bonus alone or to bonus plus deposit. Fair in Ireland: 30x to 40x on the bonus only. Under 25x is good, above 50x is hard to clear.
  • Maximum win. A cap on what you can withdraw from bonus play, common on spins and no deposit offers. Fair in Ireland: no cap on deposit matches, €100 or more on free spins.
  • Minimum deposit. The smallest deposit that activates the bonus. Fair in Ireland: €10 at most casinos, €20 for the bigger packages.
  • Bonus code. A code entered at registration or deposit. Most casinos now activate bonuses through the link instead. Fair in Ireland: if a code is needed, it is shown next to the offer on our list.
  • Payment restrictions. Deposits with certain methods, usually Skrill and Neteller, may not qualify. Fair in Ireland: cards, Revolut, Apple Pay and bank transfer nearly always qualify.
  • Game restrictions. Which games you can play with bonus money and how much each counts towards wagering. Fair in Ireland: slots at 100%, live and table games at 10% or more rather than excluded.
  • Expiry. How long you have to use the bonus and complete the wagering. Fair in Ireland: 30 days for deposit matches. 7 days is tight. Under 72 hours on spins is normal.
  • Maximum bet. The largest stake allowed while a bonus is active. Breaching it usually voids the winnings. Fair in Ireland: €5 per spin or 10% of the bonus, stated clearly in the terms.

Casino Bonus Facts and Statistics in Ireland

Is 200x wagering too high? Is 14 days enough time? These figures come from the 320-plus offers our team has checked for the Irish market, and they give you a benchmark for any bonus you come across.
  • The average wagering requirement on an Irish casino bonus is 40x the bonus amount.
  • The most common match rate is 100%. Offers of 150% or 200% are usually limited to the first deposit or to smaller caps.
  • Most single first-deposit matches cap between €200 and €1,000. Packages above €2,000 are spread across three to five deposits.
  • A €10 minimum deposit unlocks most bonuses. The largest packages tend to ask for €20.
  • The average bonus spin is worth €0.10 and is locked to one specific slot.
  • Most bonus spins expire within 48 hours of being credited.
  • The typical window to claim a bonus after registration is 7 days.
  • Most casinos allow 30 days to complete the wagering requirement.
  • Signing up and claiming a welcome bonus takes about 5 minutes at most casinos.
Figures last reviewed: September 2026.

Casino Bonus Codes

Most casinos in Ireland activate the bonus automatically when you sign up through the link on our list, so there is usually no code to type. A few still require one at registration or at the deposit step, and missing it normally means losing the offer. These are the codes currently in use on our list.

If an offer on our list has no code next to it, you do not need one. The bonus is tied to the link. Entering a code you found elsewhere can actually switch you onto a worse promotion, so only use the code shown with the offer.

How We Rate Casino Bonuses

Every offer on this page has been claimed with our own money. We register, deposit, activate the bonus, play the eligible games, message support with a real question and withdraw.

The score weighs what a typical player can actually withdraw after wagering, whether the casino is licensed and pays out reliably, and how clearly the terms are written. Placement in the list follows the score, not the size of the bonus or any commercial relationship.

how we rate

Our Rating Process

  • We claim every bonus with our own money
  • We calculate the real value after wagering
  • We check the licence, encryption and RNG certification
  • We test deposits, withdrawals and payout speed in euro
  • We confirm which games count towards the bonus
  • We re-verify every offer and code each month
The full method is on our how we review page.

Legal Gambling in Ireland

Online casino play is legal in Ireland. The Gambling Regulation Act 2024 is replacing the Betting Act 1931 and the Gaming and Lotteries Act 1956, and the Gambling Regulatory Authority of Ireland (GRAI) has been operational since March 2025 as the single regulator for betting, gaming and lotteries, online and in person.

GRAI is phasing in its licensing regime. Until an operator holds an Irish licence, it can continue to serve Irish players under a licence from another recognised regulator.

That is why every casino on this page is licensed by the Malta Gaming Authority, the UK Gambling Commission or the Curaçao Gaming Control Board. We will flag Irish licences as they are issued.

What GRAI Means for Players

  • Plainer wagering disclosure and clearer terms on every bonus
  • Identity checks before a first withdrawal
  • Deposit and loss limits built into every account
  • A national self-exclusion register that applies across all licensed operators

Responsible Gambling

Responsible gambling tools exist so that play stays enjoyable and under control. Every casino on this page offers them, and it is worth setting them up on day one rather than when a problem appears.
  • Deposit and time limits: cap how much you can wager or how long you play each day or week, directly in your account settings.
  • Self-exclusion: block your own access to a casino for a period from a few months to several years.
  • HSE National Gambling Support Service: free, confidential counselling and treatment across Ireland, by phone, online chat or in person.
  • GamblingCare.ie: self-help tools, advice and access to professional support from the Irish Safer Gambling Network.
